Sipsmith was founded with the intent of creating a small craft spirit that brought London Gin of the 19th century into the 21st. But first, they had to overturn an outdated law banning small batch gin. And they did just that – opening up a whole new realm for themselves, and others.
In terms of their gin, Sipsmith starts with a clean wheat spirit. Ten meticulously sourced botanicals, including Spanish licorice root, Seville orange peel, and Italian orris root, are then macerated for 14 hours before being vapor distilled in a swan-necked still. The payoff strikes an ideal balance between resinous juniper, tart citrus, and a dry finish.
Pairs Well With:
Sipsmith is both traditional and brash. We suggest honoring this duality by drinking a classic martini while listening to a British rock band like the iconoclastic Sex Pistols.
