We have to come clear! When it came to this cocktail we were not sure if Martini is the right name for it, after all a Martini is traditionally comprised of only two ingredients. This recipe calls for five. However, there is no clear history about the origin of the Martini and a large archive of variations exist, and so we decided to make an executive decision. The Holiday Martini it is.
To qualify for the Holiday Martini title the gin cocktail is comprised of sweet and warm flavors that will make you want to sit by the fire with a blanket while sipping it. In contrast to the original Gin Martini, where gin is front and center, this gin drink is overpowered by the almond liqueur, and it is worth every sip.
In this cocktail you will find a mixture of the fan favorite, gin. The sweet touch of almond liqueur, the balance of lemon juice, and the bitterness of orange and angostura bitters. This cocktail does require shaking, due to the fact that is uses lemon juice in the mixture and not just liquor variations, resulting in a balanced and smooth drink. If ice bits do bother you, we suggest double straining with a cocktail strainer and a fine mesh strainer.
