In the heart of the Scottish Highlands lies a small, family-run distillery that is making big waves in the world of gin. Pixel Spirits, located on the grounds of the Loch Leven Hotel in North Ballachulish, is the home of Devil’s Staircase Gin – a spiced gin named for the nearby walking path.
Owners Noru and Craig Innes, who also run the hotel, were on a quest to find the perfect Scottish gin for their bar when they decided to create their own. After experimenting with 25 different recipes, they enlisted the help of the local village to taste and vote on their favorite, ultimately choosing the recipe that is now known as Devil’s Staircase Gin.
This small-batch gin is made using locally foraged botanicals and sustainably sourced spices, resulting in a beautifully smooth and warming gin with flavors of juniper, coriander, cardamom, nutmeg, cassia, and citrus.
Whether you’re a gin enthusiast or simply looking for a unique and delicious spirit to enjoy, Devil’s Staircase Gin is definitely worth a try. It’s a true gem of the Highlands and a testament to the passion and dedication of the Innes family. Cheers!
Botanicals: juniper, coriander, cardamom, nutmeg, cassia, citrus.
