This brand of gin was first distilled in 1838 in Ghent, Belgian by a travelling Londoner, which makes it the oldest gin of Belgian origin. The distiller of this gin, Luc Waterschoot, is also the present owner of the brand. While the original Cockney’s Gin was distilled with only three botanicals: juniper, coriander and gentian, the variant before you elected to add a further 15 botanicals, including: angelica root, bitter orange, cumin, grapefruit liquorice and paradise seed among the original three (no apples and pears, for anyone wondering).
