Hailing from Canada, Ungava is a lesson in duality. It’s traditional and contemporary. It’s bitter and floral; soothing and spicy.
Immediately you’ll notice Ungava’s distinct yellow hue – the compound of a double distillation that releases a complex, multi tiered flavor. It opens on a tart note, thanks cloudberry, before transitioning to a juniper drawn from a particularly pungent Nordic variety. It’s spicy and biting, but in the very best way. Labrador tea and rose hips then balance the sip before ending on a warm, pleasant note.
One of the more thrilling gins we’ve encountered lately, Ungava is recommended for those who truly appreciate a robust “gin-y” gin.
Pairs Well With:
In terms of cocktail, we suggest pairing Ungava with a Gin Buck or another beverage that includes mint. And as for activities, we sipped Ungava while playing bocce with new friends. We didn’t win, but we had a memorable afternoon anyway – and those new friends are now old friends.
